5 Awesome Ways to Decorate Your Table for Outdoor Celebrations Like a Pro

Updated: Dec 30, 2021

We need to celebrate life now more than ever and you don’t need to have an occasion to bring family and friends together. Afterall, it’s really a shame to waste the amazing weather we have now. It’s my favorite season - and I know it’s yours, too.

If you’re thinking about hosting your own family backyard barbecue or outdoor picnic with friends, regardless if you want a grand celebration or just a little soiree, you need to learn how to dress up your outdoor space – especially your table.

A nicely decorated outdoor table can do amazing things like brightening up the space, starting up a conversation, boosting the mood, and bringing your guests together.

Here are some amazing table decoration ideas that you should try on your next party:

1. Go with a theme

Make each celebration unique with different themes. Choose a theme for your event and use it to decorate your outdoor table. For instance, you can use corals and sea shells for a centerpiece for beach themed parties. You can also use cowboy hats and boots for Western grill. In fact, you can use anything as long as it matches the theme you want. Be creative. The sky is the limit.

P.S. Make sure you use matching dining wares and cutlery, too!

2. You’ll never go wrong with candles

Ah.. This might sound cheesy, but candles can create a wonderful effect, if you know how to use them right. Use candelabras for formal parties, or a bowl of floating candles just to set the mood. Obviously, candles are perfect for evening outdoor parties as they add mood and drama to the setting.

3. Incorporate nature’s best gifts

Outdoor parties are great to be in one with nature, so why not use nature’s best gifts as decorations? A nicely trimmed bonsai can be a great centerpiece and an effective conversation starter. You can also use draft woods and some grass to set the theme.

4. Stick to a color scheme

How about using one or two colors as your table’s main theme? A purple table can feature plums, grapes, and lavenders as main decorations and centerpieces. A yellow table can highlight yellow fruits like mango, banana, lemon, etc. You get the idea.

5. Colorful fruits and flowers

Now, if you don’t feel like sticking to one color, you can always go big and play with all the colors you want. For instance, adding a nice fruit basket can make your table look colorful and lively. You can also add some nice flowers like roses, daisies, tulips, and lilies! Find a nice container for them and you’re all set.

These are just some ideas that you can try if you want to level up your outdoor party. What’s your favorite outdoor table decoration? Share them in the comment section below.
